Historical legacy from 1988
In 1988, the Fatt Yeh Temple was rebuilt on the opposite side of its original site and renamed “Seng Fatt Temple”. The Kong Tak Hall was also built for the public to place spirit tablets for their ancestors. The new temple cost more than RM90,000 to build, with the construction cost being contributions from local Kampar residents. In 1995, Ms. Wong Sooi Thye established a women’s group with nearly 300 members who actively promoted the affairs of the Seng Fatt Temple. They have organized free medical services, given donations to poor students, and also supported educational activities. It has successfully renewed the good image of the Seng Fatt Temple in the Kampar area.
